Welcome Message

MARIKINA CATHOLIC SCHOOL is the Pioneer Parochial School providing Quality Catholic Basic Education located at the heart of the City of Marikina since 1978.  It’s philosophy in education:

Catholic Education is an expression of the mission entrusted by Christ to the Church He founded. Through education, the Church seeks to prepare her members to proclaim the Good News and to translate this into action.”

To ensure that the students understand a living religion, the institution offers the religious environment necessary to foster among the administration, faculty, staff and students with their parents a sense of vocation to live out with eagerness their basic baptismal commitment in compassionate service. It affirms with Vatican II that ‘schools perform an authentic apostolate’ (CE, 8) and that the work in this apostolate means ‘performing a unique and invaluable work for the Church.

In the light of the Manila Ecclesiastical Province School Systems Association’s (MaPSA) Catholic Education principles, our school, therefore, is inevitably an integral part of the pastoral plan of the Diocesan Shrine and Parish of Our Lady of the Abandoned in Barangay Sta. Elena, Marikina City and of the Diocese of Antipolo where it belongs. It is designed to provide the formal Catholic basic education and Christian spiritual and moral values formation of its parishioners and also of the nearby parishes here in Marikina City. While its mission is religious education, it goes beyond the mere imparting of religious knowledge in having religion permeate the personal lives of the students by seeing them grow in the virtues, characteristic of the Catholic Christian, making religious instructions, which is the core of the curriculum, a reality in their everyday experiences.
